Thanks, John. Interesting read. I think it's fine that Berniers-Lee is working to create a more egalitarian web, but I think the problem with the current state of affairs is more with the users who have succumbed to the overwhelming convenience of it. Folks have just given away intimate details of their identity for the convenience of instant communication and ease of effect. I'm not excluding myself, there.
I'm worried by the evolution, though, of the convenience becoming more and more a necessity, when the controlling aspect will really start to bite. But who knows, the law of unintended consequences works at least both ways, and probably more. The future may still catch the "top brass" flat-footed. I think that ingenuity and creativity rest more with the Berniers-Lee types. This is no time for complacency. however.
