Slothrop has decided that FDR is "his" president because S thought FDR
brave "with that polio and all." Is S identifying with a disability
inflicted in childhood?
But wasn't FDRs physical disabilities kept hidden by the media? Celebrity
and myth are intimate partners. Was FDR being wheelchair bound common
knowledge back then?
