The Top 100 Films of the 21st Century (guess where Inherent Vice comes in!)

Assuming we manage to get to the end of this century, my guess is that not
even seven of these films will be remembered, let alone lauded enough to be
included on a best of the century list.
I've seen about half the list. And of that half I would say about half of
those are basically insulting to include. But I'm playing into their hands
because these things are often designed to provoke. Gotta get that sweet
audience engagement. Luckily for us, we're engaging off-grid. Thanks Jerky!
But honestly, films like Amelie, Spring Breakers, Almost Famous, not one
but TWO of Lars Von Trier's shitpies. It's like they're trying to bait me
personally. Of the four(!) Pixar films to make the list, only Ratatouille
has staying power (as others have said). Nolan's overrated but The Prestige
is a real marvel.
There are some genuine gems in there. Also, Laura's lists are good. Very
good. Ghost World. Superb. Much better than Boyhood for instance, and less
gimmicky.
