There is a connection between the ambitions of Zuckerberg and Putin at the intersection of the virtual and the real.

Money and Power. Zuckerberg uses the power of the internet to make money. Putin uses money, among other things, to control the power of the internet.

But it wasn't money that got Lester Traipse and Nicholas Windust whacked, as much as, transgression. Lester was poaching in the forest of the king, and Nick failed to protect a corner of the forest from those who would put it to their own use.
