I think it a much ignored fundamental contradiction...

If essentials become fully commoditized, and diversification of Supply
eliminates price volatility, then the only source of inflation should be
hedonistic....which is, I believe, an expression of something....uh.....I
dunno....venal sounding.

And they call it the Dismal science....

It's all that stands between us and moral Ragnarök.....so hug an economist
today....
