NP: Hopscotch – Julio Cortázar (tr. Gregory Rabassa) – Messenger's Booker (and more)

As stated, on the unusual structure and is okay but superficial. Cortazar's psychological and social insights are neglected; the deeper meanings of such a structure--existential identity for one, are missed. It is not chaotic in the reading since the arc of a plot doesn't matter, just the plot happenings in whatever order. (Think about it re life. Brilliant way to show fatedness) A great novel.

And, unless newly translated and not from the first English edition, the story AXOLOTL from Blow-up is supposedly anonymously translated by TRP. A lifelong meaningful favorite decades before I learned that.
