One of my oldest tube memories is a Flemish/Dutch children series called Floris, must have been around 1967 or so, with Hauer as Floris, a medieval knight and directed by Paul Verhoeven. It also starred a fakir!

I would bet, that del Toro has never seen Turkish Delight or Soldier of Orange – both wonderful. Saw the latter two years ago (in a movie theatre), would see it again today.
