Just watched episode 1.  I think the #1 failing of this kind of TV story
telling is stretching a 30 minute sketch into an hour.  It evokes the
opposite of anticipation, as in, "When are they going to finally get to the
next semi-obvious plot turn."  And they are all also a kind of morality
tale, which can another be too obviousness.  Or maybe the two problems are
really the same thing.
