fwiw, the latest Lodge 49 tv show episode titled 'Circles' is probably the
closest the show has come to explicitly exhibit Pynchon's
influence--without giving too much away: two strong female protagonists on
quests via different time lines in the 60s and present (mothers
enlightenment and disillusions) drugs and the west coast military
industrial complex ( a bit thick at times--one rocket enthusiast is named
Werner), the looming and haunting horror of Vietnam, secret financial and
alchemical parallels, and of course the zoyd/dude 'Dud' at the center, or
one of the centers
