funny you mention arbitrage. i was visiting some guys I knew in Mayfair,
buttoned up City-types, tea and sushi for lunch. somehow the topic of
conversation landed on ADRs (how those who didnt like apartheid could
invest back in the day, you know in the those gold mines) and eventually
arbitrage, something I knew a tiny bit about, but  by the end of the
conversation they were convinced I should chuck my job and go work in
finance which frightened me. that I knew so little but could make
boatloads. I met plenty on wall street like that
