The Plague

Howdy all,

First, I hope you are all well and finding things to celebrate in otherwise
dark and trying times.

 If like me you avoid preaching to the converted and refuse to waste time
trying to convert those believers of bad faith, then you may have watched
recent events with the feeling that you are on that bus with a mad driver
and no way to stop it or get off. But perhaps it's time to be more vocal,
not shouting, but something.

Let me explain. We all know that Trump is very ignorant. I mean no one
really believes that he wrote that Tweet about "when the looting
starts...", remember he has his little Goebbles 2.0 behind him. The
propaganda and actions are bothering me more and more. It's this
authoritarian playbook that they are using. Can you think of a massive
protest where state security forces were brought in from other regions to
bust local heads? If you thought Tiananmen Square that's understandable but
Trump and Barr did the same thing by using Texas prison guards to beat East
coast protesters. Was that not noted in the media?

If it were that one incident... but no. Now we also have the Antifa
boogeyman being brought out. This is the same thing that was done in the
1920'S and 30'S. The media jumped on board and communists were seen as the
threat. The reality is that fascists and their bedfellows killed more
people than the communists. This is a narrative that must be checked before
it gets further.

And now the inverted red triangle. This is a bridge too far. Trump must be
called what Robert Paxton saw him for and now Masha Geesen also recognises:
he is a fascist. Let the facts talk.

My fear is that as his situation gets worse and those that have tied their
fates to his begin to worry, they will grow more desperate. "We will either
be great victors or great criminals." They will either try to cancel the
election or subvert or otherwise try to steal it as in the past.

As the Lincoln Project says, it is time to choose the US or Trump. That
simple.
