Yes, it is real. of course. David Kipen is a smart knowledgeable Pynchon
fanboy. More than once the first review of
a new Pynchon in a book industry journal. one or more of them are in the
archives.

He wanted to know a bit ago now whether a kind of ghost biography
of TRP---ghost, this is my word, not his--would be published by a real
publisher. Ghost meaning
some gathering of all that we know, which is so little, of his real life. I
do not know whether
he ever submitted a proposal to any publisher. Maybe this is his attempt to
show a potential audience.
And work out and add to such a "book".

I wish David would have it filmed. I wish someone I know would go.
