Anyone remember why the markers were shipped to America from England?

Hazarding a guess, M&D brought them from England because they were English?

Also, perhaps oolite is manifestly the desideratum for boundary markers with fancy coats of arms, and the best oolite was from England, because the Indiana quarries weren’t up and running yet?
