family a wanderer in the East - reminisced by Maxine, who met March at a

Dr Samuel Kriechman - predacious landlord against whom March demonstrated
(tried to sic his great-grandsons on her but she came prepared with an
aerosol bottle of oven cleaner to brandish)
Hector the bartender at The Old Sod
Leonard Bernstein, Robert Moses, Herman Göring - subjects of March’s
continued outrage at the demolition of a Hispanic neighborhood to make way
for Lincoln Center
Elaine and Ernie Tarnow - Maxine’s parents, known to March from previous

similarities betw the two…
His mother - he offers Maxine a joke plastic sandwich, claiming it’s his
mother’s pepper-and-egg sandwich

investigating you, esteemed sirs, if you don’t mind & if it isn’t too much
bother - do let us know if it is”
Cornelia - Rocky’s wife (and yet, Maxine still is thinking in terms of
getting horizontal with him) whose picture is on Rocky’s desk & of whom he
tells Maxine
“Not only a looker as you can see, but a elegant hostess from the old
school. Equal to any social challenge.”
Gadzooks! Lots of characters. Gotta split…
