The first time I read that like I immediately thought "Lovecraft." I know that's a stretch, but then again, in "Against the Day," Pynchon did address 911 through an obviously Lovecraftian pastiche. And there's a few other Lovecraftian sentiments in "Bleeding Edge." Just wondering. Those nom-Euclidean geometries are not supposed to be easy on the ol' human brain...
