If I was a dependent character- as in not yet adult, and found myself in the midst of a culture that was deeply divided and intransigent on both sides, overtly and covertly sexist on both sides, saturated with sex and religion and t.v., and generally more concerned with slogans and opportunistic fantasies than reality and survival, and I wanted to survive- given the opportunities presented to me for independence and survival- I would probably, at least for duration, follow Frenesi.
