2) pg 48 (Black Herman to Papa LaBas, in re Abdul Hamid) “...I don’t think he should experiment in public this way. He’s doing a lot of damage, building his structure on his feet like this.”

3) pg 49 (President-elect Warren Gamaliel Harding - which places the “Chitterling Switch” party pretty firmly between November, 1920 & March, 1921) “So if you don’t mind a gate crasher I think I’ll just go and dip my fork into some of those chitterlings and pigs’ feet I know you’re cooking down in the basement kitchen.”

4) pg 84 - “We will destroy the Knights’ Templar trial records, the 36 feet of long scrolls decorated with the strange symbols your Order was so fond of.”

9) pg 114 - LaBas believes that when African Americans are freed from Christianity, “a great sigh of relief would go up through the land as if the soul was like feet resting in mineral waters after miles of hiking through nails, pebbles, hot coals and prickly things”

10) pg 133 - Musclewhite to Thor: our impoverished Eastern European preterite “used to run alongside your carriages in barefeet when you drove through our neighborhoods”

11) pg 157 - It sounds nice, Earline says,

14) pg 176 - “Hinckle climbs to his feet and staggers out to the front of his mansion” - after having been served a knockout punch by W. W. Jefferson’s relatives who came to take him back to Rē Mōte.

15) pg 176 “Hinckle helps Hubert to his feet” [after the Southern preachers have presumably served him similarly to Hinckle]
