So far we seem to have Keith D, John B , Michael B, Joseph T, Mike W ( hoping for Mark K to join too) who seem willing and interested to do a group read. Most have read the book recently. Once again I advocate for a fast read, 7-8 pages a day with a focus on why did TP write this book, why did I, the reader, keep reading, and what is he trying to accomplish, what questions is he asking, what patterns is he pointing out, why do we care about the characters, the situations etc.? Obviously this also serves as a review of a soul shaking event and the weirdness that preceded and followed 9-11. There’s a dark sadness that is part of this package. all digressions and any new participants welcome Let's be friendly , be respectful, accept disagreement and move on

So what about a schedule? I had proposed a vote A) 4 days per chapter ( 5.5 months) B) 2 days per chapter ( 2 months) C) 7 Pages a day( 2-3 days per chapter)( about 2.5 months) I do think we should organize reading by chapters to keep the flavor of Pynchon's decisions about dividing the action.

So please lets vote quick, keep moving and then reconsider how it is going after 7 chapters. I will be happy to write out a schedule after a vote.
