BE Reread. A gloss, partial of course, on Chap 3

My gloss sees Maxine's "secret anarchist code messages" line as a joke, of
course, what line isn't in this novel, but one
that shows she knows the old meaning of anarchism, a minor Pynchon theme
throughout his books---before it got warped by "bomb-throwing
anarchists" with false violence added into its meaning, as a phrase. There
is no need of laws to do one's job properly, and again, the Dylan line
resonates with me here.
"to live outside the law you must be honest".

"The Law in flames here, the terrible inflexible price of
Truth".....adamant true believers brooking no doubts at all applies all
over the place
in this 9/11 novel about Wahhabist terrorists whose theology allows/ honors
the murdering of thousands, and a nation's over-retaliation, with God
on our [US] side always, of course, (this is ironic needless to say, but I
did} torching international law....
