but as patterns. In this case, patterns of American(s).

Horst is middle American emotionally repressed guy. Horst is not NYC.
Horst has a commodities gift, grain elevators driving America's needs since
Always.  And that it, America, parties when it can as he does.
Entertainment America; Entertaining Ourselves
to Death as one popular book had it.

He is the next stage of American after those who worked hard to fill those
grain elevators.
Plays the commodities markets, America as a gambling den, and wins. He
knows America's needs and the weather, or else he doesn't get rich.
