I already had in mind to thank you for the reproach: it sounds
condescending, I know, but I only wanted to make a joke as retaliation (?)
to your remark regarding twitter and the Arab spring. The trees are coming
into leaf, still without twitter, thankfully.

You mentioned McLuhan. Do you remember that he assimilated the Swan of Avon
when he appraised TV: "It speaks, and yet says nothing" (hey, what light
through yonder window breaks: it's the pest light). Would he have greeted
Twitter and F***book as an extension of Man? Perhaps, as a carbuncle.
