“The infantry is all dead, and now all the fighting is being done by the
artillery gunners, the anti-aircraft gunners, the signalmen, the drivers,
and the cooks. Even the band members,” says a desperate new message posted
by Mariupol’s last defenders.

As others have pointed out, this message doesn’t reflect the unit’s
“official position,” but it’s dire, nevertheless. Threats from Russia/DNR
to use “chemical troops” against the last Ukrainian troops in Mariupol are
especially worrying now.
