The Kremlin’s official statements have become too implausible even for its
state media:

It seems like no one in Russia is buying the official version of what
happened to the warship 'Moscow,' not even hosts or military experts on
state TV. They bemoan the loss and claim they're fighting not against
Ukraine, but "against their equals"—"the Joint Staff of NATO."
