Not long ago, I wrote of the novel *Solenoid*, from a Rumanian genius
(evidently), getting this high global praise
for a dazzling, encyclopedic, everything-at-once work of art newly
translated into English. That is still true.

I wrote that this real good New Yorker critic, Merve Emre, actually went
overboard, self-awarely saying that
THIS was the first masterpiece she had ever read that gave her a
religious experience. That was incorrect about* Solenoid. *

She wrote that about another writer she has been reading, Jon Fosse,
Norwegian genius (evidently):

Reading Jon Fosse’s SEPTOLOGY is the closest I have come to feeling the
presence of God here on earth. For

, I spoke with Jon about grace, love, jealousy, restlessness, and peace.
