Wolfe has a rather different feel to Pynchon (perhaps linked to Wolfe's
religiosity), but they are both, like Joyce and Borges (or even Tolkien),
fractal writers. There's always more, new depths to mine. "The Book of the
New Sun" is, perhaps, the "Ulysses" of science fiction.
