More Pynchon and music for you:

Their second album is named “A Screaming Comes Across the Sky.” Heavily influenced by Acid Mothers Tempel, LaMonte Young, and Father Yod and the Source Family. Sadly, you have to work to actually hear the album—it’s only sold through their label’s Web site—but it’s pretty good, and these guys are die-hard Pynchon fans. While I didn’t formally interview them, they had some pretty effusive things to say about ol’ Tom.
Hat-tip to Christian Hänggi for turning me onto these guys,

PS: I have two more Pynchon/Music interviews coming up: electroacoustic composer Steven Ricks, and Sam Shalabi from Land of Kush. If you haven’t heard these guys, really, their music is great. The first studied composition under Sir Harrison Birtwistle, the second makes music that sounds like the answer to a story that begins: “Umm Kulthum, Sun Ra, and Captain Beefheart walked into a bar…”
