AtD translation: little of it goes a long way

The it refers to seances. He is telling Kit that Ruperta and company are into seances and he has grown impatient with the whole pursuit of contacting the dead.   ( Recall that Reef, without seances, has conversed with his  dead father a couple times, so we don’t know if it is the seance process he finds silly or of he has grown skeptical of what these experiences mean)
