Igor, another oligarch Putin helped create as he rose to power after the
fall of the Soviet Union.
Semi-relevant aside beyond the text and sarcastic even: Read about how
Putin controlled who got rich and who didn't, Putin that great leader of a
great country who is so misunderstood by most readers of Pynchon but not
Pynchon himself, who believes in the rule of Law as a few great papers on
his work mentioned here show. Rights matter to Pynchon or else he has no
vision worth encountering.
