 Xerxes versus Greeks can go even deeper as an analogy ....  According to one Grand Strategist, Xerxes was warned by a close advisor before his invasion of Greece that maintaining supply lines necessary to support the large Persian army would be difficult and could lead to failure.  It did, along with bad weather destroying the Persian fleet, and unexpectedly still resistance from the Greeks (like at Thermopole).  Generally speaking Xerxes' aspirations exceeded his capabilities.Analogous to Putin's efforts in Ukraine ?                                                                          D. Greek. And it has the same dramatic depth. Despotism against democracy.
