like Hofstadter is an historical lie.
It is why paranoid conspiracy thinking in the US moved from the Right to
much of the Left since Hofstadter.
As the Right--as Pynchon saw and put down in *Bleeding Edge* (posted
earlier this morning)--simply went ideologically
crazy---defined as out of touch even with a paranoid reality. Batshit mad.
Not just paranoid 'fears' but reified angers.
