Spending the weekend in my native Slovakia, I’m struck how many times I’ve
heard the pro-Russia apologists here (yes, they exist) evoke John
Mearsheimer and his speech on NATO’s eastward expansion as a common-sense
view of what’s happening in Ukraine. The damage the man has done.
