Life cannot reduced to singular formula. Far too complex for human reason to fathom. The stale assumptions of the Enlightenment fall to pieces in the face of the insurmountable challenges of the 21st Century. No one can fathom a simple solution. The idiosyncratic method currently espoused by the current societal milieu consistently fails to address or adequately gauge any current challenge, be it a global pandemic to WWIII. The control points are throttled and compromised. Bickering about rearranging the napkins and drapes on a sinking ship does no one any good... For those of us who admire the work of Thomas Pynchon... I feel the theme of Arrival & Departure is an understudied avenue of research... the variegated comings and goings in his work...
"Behind you, long, night-long queues of men in uniform move away slowly, kicking AWOL bags along, mostly silent, toward exit doors painted beige, but with edges smudged browner in bell-curves of farewell by the generation of hands.
