Observations from Moscow

Ukraine is not calling the shots, it’s a proxy war and Zelensky a well paid actor. The majority of people in the Donbass want out and identify as Russian. Same in Crimea. There will be no imperial Nato driven army using Ukraine as a corridor to enter Russia. 25 million Russians died the last time and it will not happen again. So far Russia has been extremely careful of civilian life But they will not allow this Nato army to continue shelling Donbass cities with no military value.
America’s role in the world is not a savior or defender of human rights but a brutal overlord whose days of hegemony are numbered. Below are exerpts from the original wolfowitz (neocon) doctrine, as revealed by the nyt in 1992:
‘A 46-page document that has been circulating at the highest levels of the Pentagon for weeks…states that part of the American mission will be “convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests.”
…the case for a world dominated by one superpower whose position can be perpetuated by constructive behavior and sufficient military might to deter any nation or group of nations from challenging American primacy.
…the United States “must sufficiently account for the interests of the advanced industrial nations to discourage them from challenging our leadership or seeking to overturn the established political and economic order”.
Its drafting has been supervised by Paul D. Wolfowitz.
the new draft sketches a world in which there is one dominant military power whose leaders “must maintain the mechanisms for deterring potential competitors from even aspiring to a larger regional or global role.”
in the event of a resurgent threat from Russia, “we should plan to defend against such a threat” farther forward on the territories of Eastern Europe”
Extend Western defense commitment into Eastern Europe’
After the wolfowitz doctrine was the PNAC, in 1998, and it is still in play, regardless which party is in power in the US (even though it was primarily a republican dominated project).

Admittedly, it is hard for me to have any sympathy for Russia's actions, being fully ware of the inherent corruption in much of the history of Ukraine. I sometimes tell myself that a life-changing event like the war may change things for the better in Ukraine, but I'm not holding my breath. Much of the life falls into that gray area and we all muddle through somehow. sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils. I just think Ukraine is the lesser of two evils in this case.

>> Why?Because Nato has taken over the operation of the Ukrainian army and recruited mercenaries? Why? Because Russia has not done this special military operation in the manner of shock and awe US mass killing with massive civilian casualties, but is trying to get the Ukraine to come to its senses? Why? Because time and the coming winter are going to change European politics. Why? Because the fundamental goal was to free the Donbass where citizens just voted for alliance with Russia. Why because Russia is building a evidence from Banderista-nazi cell phones on war crimes and intends in the long run to show another version of what is happening. Why? Because the Russsians thought Ukrainians would lose their taste for self immolation while Zelensky offers them and their children as slaves to wall street.
>> Why? Because Russia and China are picking up allies from around the world who are sick of US hegemony and World Bank slavery.
>> As to people leaving Russia. The numbers are trivial. Why leave? They probably don’t want to go to war for something they don’t believe in and they probably believe they will find ‘freedom’ in the west. Have at it; It won’t hurt Russia or make any real difference. The Russian economy is not in nearly the trouble that Germany UK and US are, and a few thousand departures will make little difference. There are also thousands fleeing Nato territory for Russia. People try to escape trouble and death during war. Very sensible.

>> Apologists for the corrupt anglo empire and its endless resource wars were wrong about Syria, wrong about Afghanistan, wrong about Libya, Iraq, Hillary, Russiagate and will continue to be blinded by the neocon press. The empire is tottering and the only thing it can now summon to terrify the world is nuclear war. Disgusting and fucking insane. May they reap what they sow.
