Isn't it so interesting that Pynchon always had more and deeper themes than
the paranoia of the times of the sixties and GR, which he also
challenged even in that novel. "What if nothing connects?.......

And his later Ironic look at paranoia and conspiracy shows where he has
gone in seeing unfolding America while you keep repeating the dead
literal past as if THAT is what TRP was writing about. He wasn't.

And although folks like you and Joseph decide to favor Russia over the US
all the way down to the turtles, you cannot even get his constant Mischa
and Grisha pairings.........

......that Tablet writer has so many facts wrong, as well as the usual
sleazy supposed logic.....associative slippery slope thinking not logic.....
