When Sartre was so hot, *Being and Nothingness *was actually a rack-size
paperback in the US.
Imagine: newsstand and drugstore distribution with that title.
I took a course on it and I won't brag but.....I could.

Form and Value in Modern Poetry would have taught me something more had I
read it but I hardly did if I did at all although I believe I once owned
it.
Discovering Blackmur did lead to me reading some great essays on novels by
him, which did teach me something, I hope. A slow, careful, selective
critic.
TRP knew budding serious readers of his times....because he was one, but
here I detect satire.....
