That May, in a stunning turnaround
<https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-waive-sanctions-firm-ceo-behind-russias-nord-stream-2-pipeline-source-2021-05-19/>,
the administration waived sanctions against Nord Stream AG, with a State
Department official conceding
<https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/us-waive-sanctions-firm-ceo-behind-russias-nord-stream-2-pipeline-source-2021-05-19/>
 that trying to stop the pipeline through sanctions and diplomacy had
“always been a long shot.”

Maybe Biden was talking with Scholz? Maybe, as we have followed Germany
thru this invasion, Germany asked for this?....maybe that is why the US
told Z not to protest too much.....because it was the best chance to get
Germany to
act right re Ukraine IF it was attacked by Russia?
