There is a new comic novel out getting some fine reviews, one from Ron
Charles, WA PO, called
Dog of the North, an obvious homage....

The cultural force of certain people---Jochen here on the Plist---who kept
up the drumbeat of his greatness
when he wasn't selling and many could not see it----I could not when
younger when I read into one my company published ---
Ron Rosenbaum was one, is another largely invisible (so far) long term
publishing story....how the canonization was earned.

I can remember when the later company I was with had a chance to publish
him---and the possibility, despite the editor-in-Chief's
desire, was killed by the Sales Department who stressed his low sales.......
