Anthony Burgess included Gravity’s Rainbow in his 99 Novels, his selection
of his favourite novels in the English language between 1939 and 1984,
claiming “it describes the obscenity of the Second World War in a way that
was not available to the poets of the First World War”

The International Anthony Burgess is attempting a sporadic (and possibly
already aborted) podcast series covering the 99 Novels, but they’ve already
released the Gravity’s Rainbow episode as of February last year, with the
foundation’s Graham Foster in conversation with the University of
Edinburgh’s Simon Malpas
