admin note about pynchon-l and spam filtering

hello list!

over the past year, i've had several inquiries from people who've
realized they've stopped getting email from the list. usually, the cause
for that is that a large email provider (like outlook or yahoo) has
decided to block all email coming from a large block of ip addresses at
our hosting provider (akamai) and we are collateral damage. after
several "permanent" rejections, the pynchon-l list software will drop
people at that email provider from the list.

unfortunately, when this happens, people will write to me.. and then my
response will also get rejected! so if you get kicked off the list and
can't resubscribe, that's probably what happening. fwiw, gmail seems to
be less problematic in this regard than many of the other large
providers.

i'll also mention that the list has a limit on message and attachment
sizes (1.5mb) and number of recipients (10), so try to stay within those
bounds if you want your message to make it to the list.
