Can’t buy that. They were key to starting the Iraqwar that killed in the neighborhood of a million, a war that brought no peace, led to organized torture  and succeeded in establishing the rule of a religious majority. They were also key to the Maidan coup and a war that has cost many lives. They did manage to FUCK the EU, a substantial gain for US fossil fuel industries.
