COL 49 group read

Actually Mark, in past reads someone usually takes responsibility to update the list of contributors and time slots. A bit hard for list followers  to know what the organizing pattern is here, but the interest is good and this should work as you suggest. I do think it would be good if there was someone to spearhead finding people to fill in on the occasion of dropouts.  I would like to remind and  mention that it is clarifying and helpful for the person leading a week’s session to write a summary of his or her 10 pages( brief or not as the leader prefers) . This summary may also be a point for further clarification and questions as the plot lines of Pynchon’s work can be confusing or interpreted in different directions. I actually think it would be cool if the person leading each week were to re-post previous plot summaries at the start of each week. This would add some refreshing context to each week, and require little extra effort. What do others think?
