I’m not sure the source of this, but I’ve been told that the HERO QUEST
MYTH can be reduced to three/(or 4) sentences:

1. Journey to a dark place.
2. Drink a potion.
3. Be CHANGED.
(4.) Return (reborn).

Think of the end sequence of 2001 a Space Odyssey.  For obvious reasons,
the potion is often psychedelic.
