Some of us relax with Law & Order. Sharpening ourselves without the dutifulness of thinking and doing, or so we justify.

As Tom remarks in BLEEDING EDGE, there are
a couple of street corners in NYC where a show
has not been filmed...

So, yesterday, I saw IT again...the show where the
Department Chief, the African-American woman of
smart incisiveness and natural leadership, whose name I'm not looking up,
is sitting reading the Bantam paperback
of GRAVITY'S RAINBOW.

There are three shots of her--she is deeply in the middle of GR-- as her
whole team is scattered around Central Park
because a blackmail drop is going down.

The episode is called Censure. It first aired 2/2/1994---so it was an
anniversary repeat. By 1994 that Bantam edition
had been replaced in the marketplace by the 'trade paperbacks' as we know.
(I do not know if it was OP but it was
hardly found in any but used bookstores, I think I can claim.
