GR translation: the blind and chilly Casino

The only thing I can think of is they’re facing a windowless side, or (to
over analyze) the esplanade they’re on is on the beach side of the casino -
while the main entrance, Porte-cochere, signage, customers entering and
exiting, parking valets, and doormen are all on the other side, streetside?
