GR Interpretation - Pirate's Arc

Pirate’s arc is that of the day, matching the day that begins when he wakes from the dream as light begins to filter into his awareness. Unlike the darkness of the nightmare’s underworld with no way out, Pirate ascends into light and an awakening horizon with ‘emissions of steam and smoke’ as well as ‘banana clusters,’ companions ‘drooling’ and ‘rooftops’ dancing in the morning. He climbs a spiral staircase that the Pynchon wiki equates  to a double helix and DNA of life. He picks his bananas, the results of waste and detritus. Then he descends to prepare his famous banana breakfast.
