Monday evening, October 6, 7 PM at The Shepherdstown Opera House
you can watch a film about History and --I have to say perhaps--be part of
film history too.

The Shepherdstown Opera House has agreed to show---FREE; FREE---[even BOGO;
Bring one, Go with one.)
the final working print of a destroyed movie of the great Agnes Varda.
(Google
her if you have not taken a class of her movies).

The movie is called *Nausicaa. *It was shown in a couple-three theaters in
Europe in 1970
and on French TV, who had contracted with Agnes for it. They fulfilled the
contract
by showing it but DESTROYED THE FILM!

Why? Come see and we can discuss why. And why it is a good film.

The movie is pure---maybe impure---Agnes. About some refugees who flee
Greece
after the military coup of 1967. They experience Varda's people and world.
Humans happen.

The Opera House will take donations if you don't want to feel like you are
"stealing services".
This movie can be shown in a theater---which is my classroom for the
evening!---only because of
them.

BACKSTORY: The Agnes Varda Society told me
they had no record of this film being shown publicly in the United States
but *counseled *
---you know who are called Counselors, right? -*-*me not to claim that
publicly.
