I have been avoiding reading the messages here about the movie so I could see it first, which I did yesterday, so apologies if this piece has been shared previously. I haven’t seen a lot of writing about the movie by people familiar with the book, so figured I would pass this along, but for what it's worth I think I disagree with the author about the thematic distance between the two.
