COL 49 and the information wars

Adding some names as I move along:  Rafael Trujillo and the murder of Jesus de Galindez a Basque intellectual and Anti-Franco fighter who had lived in the Dominican Republic and was intensely critical of Trujillos torture state, in  a collaboration of Trujillo, the CIA hired Robert Maheu, his partner  JJ Frank and mobster  S Giancana;     Sydney  Gottlieb,  and several other key figures in the  MK Ultra mind control experiments initiated by Allen Dulles.  (The justification for this program to Congess  was the claim that US captives in the Korean War  who, when they were   released by North Korea, claimed they had used bioweapons developed in Fort Dietrich against North Korea. With no evidence and against the findings of  psychiatric exams of these soldiers, Dulles claimed theses soldiers had been the object of nefarious mind-control methods used by North Korea. This he did while MK Ultra was already underway - a classic case of projection and mirroring your own paranoia and plans onto your imagined enemy.   The film The Manchurian Candidate was the public expression of this particular projection.  One of these ‘doctors’ was trained by behaviorist Skinner );  Alllen Macy Dulles Junior who suffered a severe brain injury in the Korean War and was later treated at his  father’s  direction by a key ‘medical' figure in MK Ultra, Dulles Junior was severely traumatized by this and broke with his father, accusing him concerning his collaboration with Nazis.

I am now just beginning a section focusing more attention on JJ Angleton , but found it more than a little interesting in relation to COL 49  that among CIA colleagues the paranoid Angleton  was often called “the postman” because of his illegal  searches of US mail.      Yea, THE POSTMAN .  Not making that up.

He loved the ruthless savagery, and deceptive  mind games  it made possible as much as the wealth, dalliances, and prestige, and  Dulles had far more in common with the philosophies and aggressiveness of the Nazis than with people like Franklin Roosevelt who he regularly undermined as he recruited and protected nazis. Dulles , more than anyone else orchestrated the making of a secretive deep state that is above scrutiny or lawful accountability.  Talbot presents this through preserved documents and personal accounts of those who knew him, family, wife, business and political acquaintances, Nazis he worked with, and anyone who was close enough to see how he operated, but mostly through what he directly did in the OSS, CIA, Sullivan and Cromwell, and in his US political relations with FDR, Nixon, Eisenhower and Kennedy.
