I'm all in favor of doing this here in the US. I generally transfer the
bloated contents of our mailbox directly to the recycling box. But I guess
there are still plenty of rural areas where people don't have internet
coverage.

In an age where AI has enabled unprecedented surveillance of online
communications, and even monitoring of postal communications, I'm wondering
how many secret Trysteros will crop up. Passing notes behind the teacher's
back kind of thing,but with more at stake.

The p-list is underpopulated these days, but at its height it would have
been fun to try to transmit a handwritten not, or maybe a copy of COL49,
hand to hand, from the east coast to the west coast, without use of the
postal system.
