But at La Scala, if I read the notes correctly, not at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires "around the time of the coup" where ZvK thinks Lady Forsythia Bladesmith might previously have encountered him before the current scene at the villa.

He's pretty good, but no Freddy Mercury

(I guess as a baritone there's probably a more apropos comparison than Freddy Mercury for Mr Granforte - but what a great surname for a singer, and his forte is indeed grand)

Previously:
"...can only think that Ace and Bruno's convo in the parking lot is one of those long, intricate ones..."

Wasn't there mention of a long parking lot conversation between the author and Michael Naumann, the German publisher & one-time Minister of Culture, who assisted him with research on mathematician Sofia Kovalevskaya? At least, I remember reading that exact phrase (memorable because it reminded me of the parking lot skirmish Zoyd and Hector talk about in the beginning of VL) back in the middle 'Naughts - can't find it now, though. Maybe it was, like, only figuratively a parking lot conversation anyway?
